Thursday, After Firearms Workshop, Room 217

Savannah was hanging out in her room after her Firearms workshop. Yet one more workshop that she would never be telling her guardians she was taking. She also kept looking up and staring at the flowers that she had found waiting for her.

Yesterday at Serenity Cove had been nice and fun with Chris. She was pretty impressed with the fact that he could orb in and out of places... and he hadn't seemed to be disconcerted when she was juggling fireballs. Talking about their different powers and outlooks had been pretty interesting, too.

Tonight, Johnny had a surprise planned for her and she was curious as to what he was up to. Their conversation yesterday had been both interesting and confusing... and he had seemed really interested in getting information about Chris.

She really was going to have to talk to Eve and maybe Anders or Wyatt, too. Dating was confusing.

Currently, though, she was going over notes from her workshops this week.

Savannah looked down. "Did he... was he in love with her?"

"Yeah, he was. Mom didn't let me be around him much when Eve was with him, but from what little I saw and then what I heard after she left... yeah, he was."

"I'm glad they loved each other. You know why she left?"

"I think she was scared. Scared of what the family would do to her and Dad -- and you. And scared that maybe Dad would turn out to be like the rest of the family. So she left before she could find out either way."

"She would have done anything to make sure I was always safe. Even if she was breaking her heart to do so." She swallowed. "I ahve never trusted any of the Cabals.. but then Lucas helped Paige keep me safe and keep me alive... and I met Benicio..."

"If you have to trust one of the Cabal leaders... Benicio's the one," Sean said. "Even I trust him more than I trust my grandfather."

That was what happened when your family disapproved of your "lifestyle".

"You're grandfather is a bastard," Savannah said succintly.

"Not getting any arguments from me on that one," Sean said in agreement. "It's sad when the concern Benicio expresses in one three-hour phone call is more than I've gotten from my grandfather in the past five years."

"Well, he wants me dead, so we can bond over that." She frowned into the phone. "And why does almight Nast treat you like that?"

"Because I'm gay," Sean said with a shrug that carried into his voice. "Not many of them know, but I'm pretty sure the entire family's suspected for years considering I haven't dated a girl seriously since I was fifteen."

"So they treat you like shit because of it?" Her voice may have carried a growl. "Bastards."

"Eh, I'm used to it," Sean said with another shrug. "But I'm not gonna lie, it's a big part of why I moved here."
