Friday Night, Room 217

Savannah was getting ready for her date... and was having a hard time figuring out exactly what to wear.

She finally decided on jeans and a sleeveless sweater since it was still really hot outside. As per usual, she left her hair down as well. One of these days, she might start wearing her in some sort of fancy style, but she really did prefer it to be loose or in a ponytail.

She put on her sneakers and then sat down at her desk to wait.

She had seen the posters for the girl kissing event and thought that Abigail was made of win for putting something like that together.

She looked confused. "Wait, Chris? No! I wasn't doing anything! Johnny is staying with me for a few a days."

"Yeah, I heard," Chris said, shaking his head. "Never mind. We can go out some other time."

He turned to leave.

Savannah reached out and placed a hand on his sholder. "Chris? Don't go."

Chris stopped, but didn't turn to look at her. "Why not?"

"Because we're supposed to be going out... and I want to." She stepped out of the room and shut the door. "What that... nothing happened, I swear. I would tell you if it did, I told you that. He just came back from the shower right before you got here and we were talking about the fact that you and I were going out tonight, that's all."

"He's in your room practically naked," Chris pointed out. "And he told my aunt that he slept with you. I know you told me it wasn't like that, Savannah. But... hearing that and then finding him like this? I'm not sure what to think."

"Yeah, because we're purposefully staging a rebellion against Umbridge and her stupid decrees about tearing roommates apart. In fact, I was planning on being a troublemaker and staring a co-ed commune in my room for displaced roommates. I'm betting that bit of information slipped people's minds -- and I know your ant knew because I told Anders!" Savannah blinked. "Wait. What?! I haven't had sex with Johnny! I haven't had sex with anybody!" She gave him a sad look. "I don't lie, Chris. I wouldn't have sex with someone and then go out with someone else. I'm not like that." She looked at him, trying to hide the fact that him thinking that she might have made her sad.

"I know you wouldn't lie about that," Chris said. "But I thought... I guess maybe I thought you'd changed your mind. Or decided that you wanted to date Johnny and not me. And I was going to tell you what he had said so you'd know, but then I saw him in there and... well, I couldn't help but wonder."

Savannah sighed. "This dating and people thing is a litlle weird sometimes, isn't it? If I had made any decisions, Chris, I would tell you. Believe me, no one has ever accused me of being known for my tact or anything like that. I'm sometimes too honest." She shook her head. "And yes, I have slept next to him before... fully clothed except for my shoes."

Chris nodded. "I'm not very good at this," he admitted. "And I'm used to girls choosing Wyatt over me, so it wouldn't have surprised me if you had decided you wanted to date Johnny instead."

"If I ever decide something like that, setting you up to find me in a room with a half-naked guy isn't how you would find out, Chris." She may have to talk to Wyatt some more. "And, I'm not very good at this, either. This is still pretty new, the dating thing. You don't date much when you live with a witch and sorceror and are overly protected by a werewolf pack."

The mental picture Chris got of a bunch of werewolves attacking Johnny made him smile. "No, I guess not," he said. "But, is it okay for me to say that I'm not really comfortable with him staying here?"

"Yes, it's definitely okay for you to make your feelings known." Yes, she knew exactly why he was smiling. "My guardian wants to background checks on both of you, you know."

"It's entirely possible my aunts have already done them on you," he admitted. "And, oh god, when my mother finds out?"

Savannah may have looked worried. "Already... your mom... but what if she finds out about... my past..."

She wondered how good of a job Lucas and Paige had done concealing her past...

"Huh?" Chris asked. "Oh, no, I mean... that my mom will probably want to meet you."

That would be relief crossing Savannah's features. "That... that is somehting I can handle, then."

"My family is a little..." Chris bit his lip, remembering the crazy family brunch over graduation. "Anyway," he sighed. "Do you still want to go out to dinner?"

Savannah nodded. "Yeah, I would...if you would."

Chris nodded. "Yeah, sure," he said. "I'll, uh, wait out here for you."

"I'm already ready to go, Chris." Savannah's voice was soft.

"Okay," Chris said, offering her his arm. "Then shall we?"
