Room 217, Late Monday Afternoon

After classes and after art club, Savannah came back to her room with Storm attached to her hip. She was also carrying a big bag of food that she had picked up for dinner for everyone. Considering that she was sure that their room was going to be full of people again, Savannah set Storm to helping her clean up the sleeping area and then they laid out a large sheet on the floor. Storm had demanded that they have a picnic in the room -- and it wasn't like Savannah could deny her that.

After the sheet was spread out to their liking, Storm started setting up place settings for everyone that she thought would be there.

"And Kristofer is going to sit next to me and then you and Daddy can sit next to each other..." Savannah smiled as she watched her daughter carefully putting touches on everything. "Your friend K-Mart can sit over here and LJ will sit by Kristofer..." She looked at her mommy. "Is Mairin going to come, too?"

Considering that she and LJ were both incredibly attached to each other? "Maybe, sweetie."

Storm nodded seriously and set up another place.

"Destiny does not need a place setting, Storm."

K-Mart showed up with three kids in tow. "Carlos, knock it off, we'll go see your father later. He has another child here to take care of and she's way littler than you are."

Carlos couldn't argue that logic, so he just gave a half-hearted pout.

"Savannah, for the love of God, open the door! I have kids surrounding me!" K-Mart yelled.

Savannah was at the door in an instant to open it for her friend and the three kids.

Yep, just like she had expected, Mairin was with them.

"Hi, Aunt Savannah," LJ said cheerfully. He would've hugged her but he was kind of occupied with the five-year-old clinging to him.

Mairin looked very pleased with where she was and grinned. "Hi 'vannah!"

Eve had the two kids with her; they both insisted on knocking on the door at the same time.

Savannah looked up when the she heard the knock. "It's open." When her mom and other siblings came in, she smiled. "Are Gwynn and Javelin coming, too?"

"Yep," Eve said with a nod. "Just as soon as she can get Javelin to stop running around the room and shrieking like a banshee. I'm not sure why she's doing it, by the way."

Gwynn came in with the other blonde child in time to hear that last part. "Because somehow she found the Girl Scout cookies we hid and ate an entire box of them."

"MAIRIN!!!!" Javelin jumped from her mother's arms and onto the floor. "Mairin, Mairin, Mairin! I thoughts you gots losted and monsters eated you and I didn't have my sword at the park to rescue you and..."

LJ just plopped down in his spot, amused to notice that Mairin had been put right next to him anyway.

Storm was bored with listening to the adults talking and smiled at LJ. "You can sit here and Mairin can sit here --"

Mairin glowered. "My LJ."

"I know, Mairin," the other five year old said as patiently as she could manage. "You can sit next him him right here --"

"She's sitting next to me no matter what," LJ said mildly, grinning at Mairin. "Right?"

Mairin nodded at him. "Uh huh. Sitting with LJ."

Gwen was quite happily tucked away in a spot on the floor with a toy she'd appropriated from somewhere in the room.

Destiny wanted nothing to do with the fighting wee witches and instead came over to lay next to Gwen. It was quiet over here.

"Puppy!" Gwen said gleefully, reaching out to pet the puppy. "Hi, puppy!"

Carlos was just ignoring the whole thing. Girls were so stupid, man.

He'd plopped down on one of the beds and was just watching everybody.

Kristofer watched him a long moment before he ventured over. "Why are you on the bed and not with the rest of us?"

"'cause I'm not related to any of you guys," Carlos said with a shrug. "I'm just the one that Mom didn't wanna randomly leave somewhere."

Johnny sat on the floor, cross-legged, watching and listening to the kids. He decided the noise level wasn't too bad, but kind of wouldn't mind if they all took naps.

What? He was a teenage guy, come on.

LJ had managed to extricate himself from Mairin for a few minutes, since she and Javelin appeared to be clinging to each other. He used this time to plop down next to his dad.

Johnny looked down at the kid and slung an arm around his shoulder.

"So... what's up?"

Savannah saw that somehow she hadn't seen Johnny come in during the fight and she gave him a tired and sad smile as she dropped down next to him.

Kristof was sitting on the floor with the others but was more than content to sit and watch everybody with great curiosity.
