Savannah was not planning to get out of bed any time soon. The weather report she had read last night had said it was going to be cold and rainy... not that she was geting up to go to the window to check if that had been accurate.

No, not ready at all to move away from the warm body of her boyfriend that she was curled up against.

She gave him a shy smile. "You're part of me, too, Johnny."

"Then if I go, and you're not going to see your family, you'll come with me?" He paused, then continued before she could answer. "Or we could split it up again. Spend time with yours and with mine."

Savannah tensed slightly. "If we split it up, we do mine first that way if it goes badly, we have your family to look forward to?" She did not want a repeat of last year, but she was smart enough to know she would probably catch hell if she didn't make an appearance for Christmas since she had bailed on Thanksgiving. "If we have another fight there, we're out of there that same night..." There might have been a note of begging in her voice.

"Absolutely," he told her, determined to make her happy in this. "I won't let anyone bother you, you trust me, right? I don't care if they are your family..."

She nodded and lay her head against his chest. "Okay and of course I trust you."

"Same goes for my place too. Sue starts in on me, I'm not going to stick around."

"That's fine with me. If we need to, we can go on our own short vacation somewhere with just the two of us."

Johnny grinned. "I might like that idea better than visiting family. We can always send cards."

She laughed against his chest. "I like that idea too... except then we'd be catching shit from both families."

"I've caught shit before," he said. "Doesn't really bother me. But if you're worried..."

She looked up at him her eyes thoughtful.

"What would you rather do?"

"I would rather make you happy, sweetheart," he said.

She leaned up to kiss him. "You don't have to do things to make me happy, Johnny. You make me happy just being you."

He smiled soft at her. "Tell me what you want to do."

She smiled. "Christmas alone with you... even for just a few days would be wonderful. If we have to do family obligations... make the visits short so we can spend a nice time alone together..."

"That sounds like a plan. We can stay here for alone time... or go some place like a nice, secluded beach somewhere."

She lifted her head to look into his face. "What would you like to do?"

"You in a bikini at Christmas would make me very very happy," he said, grinning wide.

She giggled. "Then I guess we won't be doing Christmas here as I happen to not want to freeze."

"Let me take care of it," he said, reaching to trail his finger down across her cheek. "It will be part of your Christmas present."

She turned her face slightly to kiss his finger. "All right then."

"It's settled. A day with your family, a day with mine, the rest is ours?"

She nodded emphatically. "Yes. Yes that's a very good plan."

That way she could escape Stonehaven when the yelling started.

Johnny pulled her closer, shifting her weight atop him. "I love you."
