Beach, Friday Evening -- Johnny's Birthday Party

Savannah had gotten people's help to set up everything on the beach for the party and she was pretty happy with the results. There was a table with food and drinks and another table for gifts. There were tiki torches spread around the area for light and ambiance. They had also made sure there was plenty of space for dancing and just flopping onto towels on the sand after playing in the water.

A banner was strung between two trees that read:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHNNY!!

She shivered and her eyes darkened a little. "I'm speaking the truth... and maybe I'm a little biased."

"What would you have done if I didn't want to come out here tonight?" he asked, his eyes amused as he looked at her, knowing how he was affecting her.

"Taken off my top and ran out this way," she said immediately with an impish grin.

No, she probably wouldn't have gone that far to get him here.

He laughed. "Now that I would have liked to seen. I'll have to remember this little conversation, save it for next year..."

Except he will have graduated...

"At least I know of a surefire way to get you to chase me."

She gave him a serious look and then nodded, squeezing him again. "I know."

Johnny did not want to ruin this evening by thinking about next summer. It was a year away. He had too much time with Savannah right now to enjoy, and that is exactly what he was going to do.

"Next week, I want to take you for a ride; we'll do a little sightseeing, maybe find us a chic hotel and stay over. What do you say?"

He smiled. "Excellent. I enjoy riding you know, but I enjoy it so much more when you're seated behind me."

She smiled. "I like riding with you, Johnny. And it's been awhile since we've been able to do that."
