Room 217, Tuesday Evening

After the visit to the clinic, Johnny had brought Savannah back to their rooms. After she got changed into something more comfortable, he had tucked her into the bed.

Curious by all of this, Destiny had jumped up on the bed to curl up against her, as well.

After telling him that she didn't think she should take the meds on an empty stomach, Johnny had left water beside the bed and headed out to get food.

"Stay in bed," he ordered as he left. "I'll be right back."

She kept looking at the phone, thinking that she needed to call a few people.

He cocked his head. "Are you saying I don't?"

She jerked her head up quickly enough that she winced. "Wha-? What would make you ask something like that?"

"Because I've been so anal about you lately. Taking care of you and not listening much, I guess..."

She set her plate down and moved over on the bed. "Come here... please?"

Johnny set his plate and his beer aside and did as she asked, head still sort of ducked a little. He did feel like he's done nothing but order her around lately and it was touching a nerve...

"I don't mind that you've been taking care of me. Do you know what I would be doing right now if you hadn't been so adamant about the clinic and rest?"

"I'm not sure I want to know," he teased her lightly, his blue eyes warm and caring as they traveled over her face. "Do you have class tomorrow?"

"I would have gone to cheerleading and practiced tosses and jumps." She smiled slightly. "According to Dr. Troy, I don't have classes until Monday, but no, I don't have a Wednesday class."

"If you dared to go, you would have worried everyone and hurt yourself further. I wouldn't have let you go. And I'm not working tomorrow. I'm staying right here, with you, to make sure you are resting and doing nothing but that."

Savannah lay her head against him. "Have I mentioned how sexy you are when you get so determined to take care of me?"

He cradled her in the crook of his arm, nestled against the curve of shoulder and chest. "Not lately," he smiled and leaned to kiss her forehead.
