Room 217, Very Early Saturday Morning

It had taken awhile for Savannah to fall asleep the night before and even as she finally did sleep, it wasn't a peaceful one.

It was about dawn when the dreams started getting bad enough that she was making jerking motions in her sleep...and shortly after that, she started whimpering and crying softly.

It was obviously not a good night for a certain witchling.

Johnny started to rouse when he felt Savannah stir beside him. He reached an arm out in an attempt to quiet her, but soon her crying had him waking fully and he pulled her against him, rearing up and leaning on his elbow to look down at her. "Savannah, sweetheart. Shhh... you're dreaming baby..."

He was starting to really worry about her. With her coming home late last night and falling into bed, he hadn't had a chance to talk to her. But he was worried, he was worried as all hell.

Savannah whimpered once more and when her eyes opened, they were full of tears... and something else.

When her vision cleared, she blinked slightly. "J-Johnny?"

He stared hard into her eyes and reached to brush away tears that fell from the corners of her eyes. "Yeah, baby, I'm here..." he whispered and leaned over to kiss her brow. "What is it, what are you seeing that has you scared so damn bad?"

Savannah leaned up and hugged him tightly, burying her face in his chest. She was scared -- of a few things -- and it wasn't a feeling she liked.

"Kidnapping," she finally mumbled. "Mom's death.. second kidnapping..."

Everything that happened at the compound... Kristof's death at her hand...

He held her to him tight, doing his bed to comfort her tiny frame. When she spoke, Johnny felt chills race down his spine. "No, shhh, no one is going to touch you, sweetheart. I'm here... no one can hurt you baby."

"I know. I know you won't let them."

Of course, she was pretty sure that when or if he found out about her past... he wouldn't be so determined to keep her.

And that scared her more than anything.

"Who kidnaps you, Savannah? This second kidnapping. Who is it?" he asked her quietly, his jaw clenching slightly.

"Kidnapped," she said quietly. "Past tense. Leah kidnapped me after Paige adopted me."

"So... you're nightmares are about the past? You said second kidnapping; what's that mean?"

"I've been kidnapped twice, Johnny," she said softly. "The second time... was around this time of year."

"Jesus," he murmured and laid back, putting his hand behind his head, thinking. "Where were you last night?"

"With Eve. I thought... I thought I saw someone I knew and it reminded me of my nightmares about her death, so I had to make sure she was still okay."

She did not want him going and looking for Leah. The half-demon bitch had no conscience and she would kill him for trying to protect her.

"You were out late, Savannah," he said in a worried tone. "I know I'm not your keeper; you don't have to tell me where you go and what you do. Doesn't mean I'm not sitting back worrying, you know?"

He was again quiet for a moment. "Who did you think you saw?"

Savannah snuggled close to him. "'M sorry. I was just so freaked and I had to know she was okay."

She swallowed. "A demon. I thought I saw this demon that had been friends with my mom and me. It wasn't really her, but..." she sighed. "I freaked."

Well, at one time she had thought Leah was her friend.

"It's okay, I mean I do understand you wanting to see her. It's just, your dreams haven't been easy for you at night; I can't help worrying." Demons? God, no wonder she freaked.

"Johnny?" Savannah was still hiding her face in his chest. "Has... have you..." She took a deep breath. "Have you ever seen or done anything in your life that you wished you could do over?"

He cut his eyes over at her and considered her question. Yeah, dealing with Von Doom he'd definitely do over. He never would have worked for the son of a bitch in the first place. Nor would he have allowed Sue near him. "Yeah, I do."

"Me, too," Savannah said softly. "There are... things about me that scare me and... my past isn't exactly the stuff of raindrops on roses."

Johnny gave her a slight smile and leaned over to kiss her mouth softly. "Sweetheart, is your past supposed to affect how I feel about you now? What matters to me is the here and now and keeping you safe. I hate that you have nightmares, I hate that you have a past that is causing you hurt; I'd change it for you if I could. You know that, right?"

She almost started crying again, but she didn't. Instead, she pulled him close to her and kissed him deeply. When she pulled back, she looked into his eyes and then nodded.

"I know you would, love. I know you would."

"Then promise me, does something happen, you'll come to me... promise me that Savannah. You can depend on me." Johnny wasn't liking her nightmares and for her to keep having them did not bode well on his conscious. She was a witch, he had no idea what her dreams were meaning for her.

Savannah was torn. She didn't want him to tangle with Leah -- or any other enemy from her past that might show up -- but on the other hand, this was Johnny. He loved her and her safety was important to him.

"I promised,' she said softly. "I know I can depend on you, and if there's trouble, I'll make sure you know."
