It was after dark by the time Savannah closed up the store and headed back to the dorms. She had gotten a little distracted by how much bike stuff one could buy from magazines and she had made a list of things to talk to Johnny about.

She may have also been thinking about adding to Sean's inventory.

When she had seen how quickly it had gotten dark, she cursed. Johnny was going to be worried.

After quickly locking up the store, she headed out.

[[OOC: For she that knows who she is. That Savannah talked to someone is fine for broadcast. The subject matter, not so much.]]

She was really kind of amused that Paige Winterbourne had sent Savannah off to a boarding school. Had she tired so quickly of playing Mommy to a girl who had the possibility of tapping into more power than any one she could imagine?

Or was it like she had told Savannah so long ago? Had something happened and a scared Paige sent Savannah away to punish her?

Using a cloaking spell, she walked with the girl outside of town and then when she was sure they were out of sight of both town and the school, she dropped the spell and stepped out in front of Savannah.

"Hello, Savannah."

Savannah had read in books that people could skid to a stop, but she had never actually done it herself.

Until now.

She stared at the woman in front of her and shook her head.

"Leah."

Leah... the half-demon that tore her and Paige's lives apart.

Leah... the woman that had arranged her second kidnapping.

Leah... who was supposed to be dead.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

Why aren't you dead?

"Now, Savannah," Leah chastized. "Is that any way for you to talk to an old friend?"

"You're not my friend," Savannah snapped. "We were never friends. You tried to use me. You killed the one person in that place who really gave a damn about me."

"Oh, come on," Leah said, almost pouting at the young girl. "You make it sound so horrible and bad. Really, I was just doing what I had to do."

She folded her arms and looked at Savannah. "You're growing up to look rather a lot like her, you know."

"You didn't have to kill Ruth!" Savannah protested. "She wasn't a threat to you people at all! She cared about me and was teaching me..." Her voice trailed off as she stared at Leah.

"My mother. You... you do not get to talk about her!"

Savannah's hands clenched at her sides.

"I get to talk about whatever I damn well please," Leah said, smirking. "Just like you get to dislike me talking about it. Free country, after all."

No, it'd never occurred to her that antagonizing the witchling would be a bad idea.

Oh so not a wise move, really.

Savannah's hand flew out and shot a knock-back spell at Leah's chest.

Leah reacted immediately, telekinetically slamming Savannah off to the side and up against a tree. Nothing too terribly damaging, as her eye contact broke as her back hit the ground. But still, enough for a few good ouchies.

That was definitely a colourful curse from Savannah as she hit the tree.

"What the hell are you doing here?" She demanded. "Go away." Her eyes were full of malice. "Don't give me more reason to call Elena and Paige."

Because she knew that Elena would have loved to be the one to end Leah.

"What's the point in telling you why I'm here?" Leah asked as she got to her feet. "Not like you'll come along willingly."

She dragged her fingers through her hair. "This isn't exactly the kind of place I expected to find you in, kid. What's got you here? Paige get tired of you? Wouldn't blame her if that were the case, really. I mean, you are a handful."

Savannah fought down the hurt that Leah's comment caused. She remembered how Leah had tried to get Savannah to turn against Paige and the others at the compound. She had tried to make her feel unsure about her acceptance.

"Paige doesn't see me like that, Leah," she said as calmly as she could. "And she didn't send me away to get rid of me."

"Or so she tells you, anyway." Leah shrugged. "All right, then. Fair enough. If she didn't send you here to get rid of you, then why did she send you here?"

"I chose to be here. I like it here and I'm safe here."

Take that, psycho.

"Obviously not too safe if I could find you so easily," Leah countered with a smirk.

"Well, I wasn't aware I needed to hide from skanks."

Who were supposed to be dead.

Leah couldn't help it; she laughed. "Skank? That's a new one on me, I'm afraid."

Savannah was done with small talk.

"Been real, Leah," she said as she finally cast the spell she had been preparing since hitting the tree.

As she ran, she thanked every deity she could think of that Paige had taught her the invisibility spell. All Leah would see was a blur, but it wouldn't help her much.

Leah just watched the direction the vaguely Savannah-shaped blur took off in. No use following her now. Girl was too scared to grab, anyway. Leah liked a challenge, but not that much of a challenge.

Besides, she'd gotten what she wanted -- visual, with her own eye confirmation that Savannah was there. Anything else just then would've been a bonus.

Leah just turned and made her way back into town.
