Sunday Night, Room 217

Savannah in all of her wisdom had decided to something that would probably end up with her, Johnny and K-Mart wanting to go out and get drunk when all of this was over.

She had decided to organize a sleepover for the kids shared between the three of them. She figured that this would give the kids a chance to bond and the adults some time to not be on constant guard with them.

K-Mart and LJ hadn't arrived yet, so Savannah was taking the opportunity to lay down some ground rules for her kids.

"No making fire balls. No using magic on each other. No being mean to K-Mart or to LJ." She looked at Storm. "No threatening to use magic on K-Mart." She looked back at Kristofer. "No threatening to fireball LJ. He is your brother and you will be polite to him, got it?"

"She seems to be just fine. A little loud and a bit possessive, but then, she's a Levine." She smiled. "Want to talk to her?"

"Yes, please." Definite relief in her voice.

It took a moment as Mairin was not at all willing to leave her seat, but finally there was a voice on the phone.

"Hullo?"

"Your mommy and I have been so worried about you!"

Uh oh.

"Hi Mama. How are you?" Yes, she was so a Levine.

"Worried," she said pointedly.

Ooops.

"I'm sorry, Mama." Pause. "But I have an LJ," she explained.

No, it wasn't much of an explanation, but by a five year old's standards, it should have been.

"Who's LJ?" She knew this one, she really did, but her brain was so scattered that she could be forgiven the question.

Mairin was quiet for a second. "He's LJ." Because really, didn't that say pretty much everything.

"He's K-Mart's son with Johnny," Savannah called from the background.

"He's my LJ," Mairin said.

"I think you're gonna have to give him back to his mommy, sweetie," Eve said, mentally filing away the information Savannah had added.

There was a shuffling sound and Savannah came back on the line.

"Uhm... what did you say to her? She frowned and handed me the phone."

"She said he's her LJ and I said she's probably gonna have to give him back to his mommy."

Savannah snickered. "Ahh. I guess she didn't like that very much. She gave me the phone and went and crawled back into LJ's lap."

"Aww, that's kinda cute." Eve grinned. "Take pictures for me?"

And that was when LJ shrieked "YOU MADE HER SAD! I HATE YOU!" in the direction of the phone before wrapping his arms around Mairin.

"... He's got good lungs, I'll give him that much."

Savannah winced. She started to say something and then Storm started yelling, too.

"You shouldn't make people sad! It's not nice!" Of course, Storm being upset made Kristofer angry. "Don't upset my sister!"

"All of you, chill! I'm talking to your grandmother, damn it!"

Savannah sighed. "Let's see, Johnny's temper and protectiveness, plus mine and you get --"

"-- you have to be nice Grandma Eve!"

"A maelstrom," Savannah finished.

"Tell them I'm sorry and I'll make it up to all of them tomorrow," Eve said. "Junk food or something before we ship 'em home. Except leave out that last little bit."

"You're mean!" was LJ's yelled contribution to Eve.

"She is not," Savannah stressed. "She was worried because she and Gwynn didn't know where Mairin was!"

"Yeah," Savannah said to Eve. "We'll make it up to them and I'll make sure I get lots of pictures of those two for you, too."

From the background, the sound of crying could be heard. "Oh yay, both Mairin and Storm are crying, which means both LJ and Kristofer are going to get pissed. I'm sorry, mom, but I have to go before they decide to rule the school or something."
