Room 217, Thursday Afternoon

Savannah was confused when she got home and found a large package sitting in front of her and Johnny's door. She was even more confused when she saw that it was from Benecio.

Going inside, she sat it down and started to carefully open it. What was Benecio sending her this time? She hadn't even told him it was Homecoming weekend yet.

She picked up the card the was sitting on top of the tissue paper and opened it. Her eyes widened with shock as she read it. "Happy 17th Birthday, Savannah..."

She dropped down onto the bed with muttered breath. "I forgot my own birthday?!"

"Hey," she said softly, moving to sit in lap. "Stop that. With everything else you do for me and remember about me, there's no reason to be upset."

"It was your birthday, babe," he said, wrapping his arms around her. "I bet Eve didn't forget. Or Sean."

"Okay, first of all? Eve is my mom and has known about it for seventeen... wow, seventeen... years. Sean is my brother and has known about me for three years."

"And?" That didn't prove anything to him. The guy that shared a room with her. Had sex with all the time... okay, maybe he was just dreaming that last part, but they did have it often, right?

She touched her forehead to his. "You really feel bad about this... but love, I forgot, too. What does that say about me or how important I think it is?"

Oh yeah... they did a lot.

"Okay, that makes me feel better, put like that," he mumbled. "Tomorrow will be so great, Savannah. I was going to ask - is there anywhere specific you'd like to eat before the dance?"
