Room 217, Sunday Evening

Savannah was standing in front of her easel, painting. Destiny was laying at her feet, silently watching what she was doing.

The nighttime scene was coming to life beneath her brush and Savannah was very happy and cheerful as she painted. The computer was playing music and she was humming along.

Johnny roused slowly from where he had fallen asleep on the bed. The nap was unintentional but apparently needed. The music was nice and he smiled lazily as he turned over on his side, his eyes finding Savannah in front of her easel.

He was loathe to interrupt her.

Savannah didn't seem to be aware that he was awake yet and continued moving her brush over the canvas as she sang along to the music in a soft voice. She hadn't painted anything in awhile and she was a bit absorbed.

His eyes followed the movement of her brush, of the way she moved in general, and to hear her sing just made his smile grow. Savannah was undeniably tempting.

Savannah turned her head to look at Destiny and noticed that Johnny was watching her.

"Hey," she said with a soft smile. "Did I wake you up?"

"No," he said quietly. "You didn't."

Savannah smiled. "I'm at a stopping point if you want to do something else. Watching me paint can't be that interesting." She went to move her hair back from her face and got a smudge of blue paint on her cheek.

"Believe me, I've enjoyed laying here watching you for the past several minutes. Don't quit on my account, sweetheart; I love watching you," told her, grinning at the blue she just smudged on her cheek. "You got a bit of..." he brushed at his own cheek, "...blue there."

Savannah blushed and her eyes probably showed how happy him saying that made her feel. "I was painting Serenity Cove at night."

"I thought that landscape seemed familiar. It's... incredible, Savannah," Johnny said, staring at her canvas once more.

"Thank you." She smiled. "I'm a little out of practice, but I'm happy about how it's turning out."

"You should paint as often as you can," he told her. "I like to see you so comfortable, so at peace."

She added something to the painting as he talked. "I sometimes get so caught up in my painting or my sketching that I can get lost in my own little world."

Johnny chuckled. "I love you. And I like to hear you sing..."

"I enjoy singing." She tilted her head at the painting and then she looked at him. "I love you. And I should paint you sometime."

"Nude?" he teased, waggling his brows.

"I'll need a bigger canvas," she said seriously. Her eyes were full of mischief.

Yeah, that would be Johnny actually blushing.

Still he managed, "You sure would."

Something in her always melted when he blushed and she smiled at him. "I love you so much."

His eyes met hers and he melted just a bit more. "I know."

She looked at the painting and then looked at him. "I think we should... go back to Mexico..."

"You want to?" he asked, his voice tinged with surprise. He hadn't thought about Mexico since Spring Break.

"I'd like to... if you would..."

"I would like that very much, Savannah," Johnny said, shifting his body into a more comfortable position with his shoulders against pillows and headboard.

"When would you like to go?"

Savannah set the brush down on top of the canvas and came to perch on the bed. "Sometime over the summer? Maybe a break between school and summer camp... or the break between summer terms?"

"Alright, I think this totally could work," he said, thinking. "What about between the summer terms?"

She nodded. "Yeah. I would like that. We could use the break."

He studied her. "You feeling alright, Savannah? Everything been good lately?"

She smiled. "I'm fine, I promise."

"I worry sometimes, you know?"

Savannah nodded and took his hand. "It's one of the things that makes you so great."

"Are you looking forward to the prom?" he asked, squeezing her fingers gently.

She smiled at him. "I'm wearing blue this time."

"Absolutely perfect," he said, smiling.

She leaned forward and kissed him gently. "I was hoping you would like that."

"It's my color," he said quietly, moving his hand to her cheek as he kissed her softly.

Johnny kissed her sweetly, enjoying the feel of her lips against his.

Savannah wrapped her arms around him, continuing the kiss and just wanting to be close to him.

His free arm snaked around her waist, pulling her closer, and he grinned a little against her mouth, loving her.

"I love you so much," she murmured against him.
