I wanted to let you guys know that I may be slow or sluggish in replying to tags today.

Where I live, it hit 97 degrees yesterday. My car has no air conditioning and I was stuck in traffic in my little oven for a little over an hour and a half.

So, yes, heat sickness or heat stroke, not sure what you call it.

I'm okay. The roommates have been feeding me water and making sure that I got cooled down yesterday and my body has kept slipping into sleep at weird times.

Still sliuggish and feeling weird today, so if tags are slow or stretch for awhile, this would be why.

Thanks. :)

Heat stroke is the suck. If I may make a suggestion, aside from the usual "keep your fluids up" thing, putting cool, damp cloths or ice packs in your armpits is good. Sounds odd, but it's a must for me every time I've had a touch of heat.

Suggestions are always welcome. :)

I hadn't thought about that. Thanks for the tip and I will definitely try that.

You learn a few tricks when you live in a place that's stinking hot for most of the year and you're sloppy with how much time you spend in the sun! (another example: always keep an aloe vera plant in the garden to break off for sunburn!)

Eeesh. Not fun. :(

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Aw, heat stroke is definitely the suck. I live in heat most of the year too and man, it is terrible. Just rest as much as you feel... and don't worry about tags, take care of you!

*glomps* Heat exhaustion sucks. During the height of my larping, people used to take bets on when I would keel over during summer events. Ah, the perils of being of nordic blood and wearing full makeup and running around like a maniac. ;)

*sends cool compresses and good vibes* In addition to the other suggestions, get a little salt into your system (e.g. pretzels, chips, etc.). And hold off on liquids with alcohol and/or caffiene.

Thus sayeth the girl who used to lead walking tours in New Orleans in triple-digit degree 100% humidity weather and who got used to tourists passing out when they didn't heed the above advice.
