Room #217, After Classes

Savannah's memory of the last two days was a little foggy. She remembered some things -- like fighting with Johnny -- but she didn't know why they had been fighting or what had exactly been happening.

She also remembered certain things she had heard on the radio...but even that wasn't completely clear.

After classes, she headed back to her and Johnny's room.

Fandom confused her and after the events of the last week or so, she just wanted some down time and to try to make sense out of everything.

Johnny had been trying to hide all day. Now, after having just come from seeing Meg that is still currently being played out, he came back to his room to find Savannah within.

Savannah gave him a slight smile when he came in. "Hey..."

"Hey," he said and moved to sit on the bed. He had no idea how to start up a conversation and for some reason starting out with 'hey, I screwed a couple people over the weekend' just wasn't going to work.

"Savannah... I... " yep, that was as far as he got.

Savannah bit her lip and looked at him, trying to figure out what he was trying to say. She reached out and took his hand.

Oh god. This was hard. Too hard.

"I think I may have just screwed up, and in a major way."

Savannah's face fell.

"What do you mean?"

"Sweetheart, shit... I'm so sorry, so sorry." He looked at her and then closed his eyes against the hurt he was seeing on her face. And this before he could even tell her what he did.

She was getting worried... really worried.

She moved over to him and lay a hand on his face.

"Johnny? What's wrong?"

"This weekend, we were older, you know that now, right? Well, the older version of me took advantage of my... single life."

Her eyes widened.

"Oh..."

"I'm sorry! God, I am so sorry..." He shut his eyes against the pain he was causing her.

"Savannah, please believe me... please."

She hadn't moved away, in fact had been searching his face and his eyes and when he shut his eyes, she swallowed past the lump in her throat.

"I believe you." Her voice was very soft. "You wouldn't be this upset otherwise."

And she was confused. Was it still technically cheating if they were twenty years older and... they thought they were broken up?

He was confused about that whole issue as well. If he thought he was single and thirty-eight, was it cheating? God...

Johnny's lashes were wet. "I would never ever hurt you like that. If I ever had the thought, or the intention, of being with anyone else, I would come to you first and either talk it out or break up with you. But no, that is not my intention. I love you so damn much. Please forgive me, Savannah."

Savannah reached out and cradled his face between her hands. "Johnny, love... sweetheart..." She leaned forward and kissed his forehead gently. "I know that you would never hurt me like. I know that. Honey... we were twenty years older and we... for whatever reason... we weren't together..." She swallowed past her own confusion and sadness... and remembered how they had apparently ended the night and looked into his face. "We love each other and it'll be okay."

His hands covered hers and he stared into her eyes. "So... you forgive me and you won't try to hurt Meg? It wasn't her fault, it was mine... and please don't hurt Ronan..." yeah, Johnny sort of got around. "And I kissed Ino and I'm so sorry. You can totally kick my ass. I'll let you."

But...

"Savannah? Do we have a child together?"

He had a busy weekend reunion...

"I forgive you sweetheart, I do. I won't hurt any of them for what happened whenn we were older, alright?"

She looked at him, trying to piece the fuzzy memories together.

"I think... I think our older selves do..." She swallowed. "Something that teenagers don't generally want to hear..."

Savannah looked down.

"But that future is not set in stone and I will never cheat on you. Ever," he said firmly. "Trust me when I tell you that, okay? I will never cheat on you."

Johnny frowned, trying to remember their argument. "Storm was her name. You called her that." Johnny didn't mind talking about kids. He may not be ready for them but it didn't bother him to talk about them.

"I do trust you, Johnny." Her forehead wrinkled as she tried to piece things together from the fight.

"Storm...I named her after you and I... I kept her from you -- I would never do that to you, I wouldn't. Something really bad would have to happen to me for me not to tell you..."

He was thinking about the argument, trying to remember. "Something did happen, something bad... Eve told me..." And maybe he shouldn't get into any more of it, or remember anymore of it. It would only upset her and upset him.

Savannah reached out again to take his hands in hers. "I would never willingly do something like that to you, Johnny. Hurting you like that would be akin to tearing out my own heart."

She was struggling to remember what might have happened in the future to make her do something so cruel to the guy she loved so much.

"I know, I know baby," he said and squeezed her hands. "Can we forget these last two days? I don't want to think about what I've done or about our argument, or anything that caused you hurt. Please?"

Savannah nodded. "I don't want to talk or think about the last two days, either, Johnny," she said quietly.

Everything leading up to the last few days had been bad enough -- almost kidnapped, killing Leah, almost dying from the plague -- she really didn't want to think about anything else that had been as painful as the last two days seem to had been.

Not talking about things that caused her hurt seemed like a very good plan.

He gave her a slight nod, his shoulders feeling relief from the burden he had carried throughout the day. "I love you," he said quietly, looking into her eyes.

Savannah moved closer and looked into his eyes for a long moment before she kissed him. "I love you."
