Lawns In Front Of The Dorms, All Day

Once more it was Savannah and K-Mart who came up with an idea to keep their family's wee children occupied and out of trouble. (Hear the gods laugh and that last part.) They also thought this idea might help out some of their freaked out classmates who weren't used to this weekend happening.

Savannah had brought out art supplies for the kids, as well as set up a "practice ring" as both Mairin and Telyn demanded it. Created the ring ended up in an argument between the two girls as to whose practicing was more important. Luckily, LJ grabbed Mairin before she could do something her moms would regret... like say using a knock-back spell on the other little girl.

Once that was dealt with, Savannah, K-Mart and Gwynn ran to different stores in town to get supplies and things for any kids that happened to be dropped off at the play area for awhile, and LJ kept an eye on the girls for them.

Once they were done, there was a kiddie pool... a nicely sized one, an area set up for painitng, another for clay. There was a table with books and another one with coloring books and crayons or pencils. Yes, there was a practice ring roped off for those wee tiny warriors to practice... although either Gwynn, Savannah, K-Mart or Annja would be presiding over it to make sure "practice" didn't become "fight". A few yards away from the practice ring is an area with three targets set up. These are for the suction cup bow and arrow sets and suction cup pistols.



[[OOC: Yes, feel free to come to the lawns and either drop off your kidlets or do things here with them. Savannah and K-Mart thought this would keep their horde occupied. And no, it didn't even occur to them to charge other parents for babysitting. :D COME AND HAVE FUN!]]

Storm had taken her place at the art section and was mixing colors before she started drawing with them on the paper in front of her. She got the idea of painting colorful lines to follow the sunbeams that were showing up on the table and the paper...

...and her arms.

Charlotte had gotten into the arts and crafts. That meant paint on her face and glitter in her hair. At least she was having fun!

Practice Ring

There is a roped-off practice ring for those that "require"/"demanded" it. There are no real weapons. Not even wooden practice ones. All of the weapons are Nerf-type weapons.

A few yards away from the practice ring is an area with three targets set up. These are for the suction cup bow and arrow sets and suction cup pistols.

You do not want to let any of the adults catch you shooting other things besides the targets. Please do not make the witches angry, okay?

Surprisingly enough, Mairin was behaving quite well in the practice ring. She was waving her Nerf sword as she danced around the ring. Every so often she would stop and deliver a stunning hit to the ropes or the wooden posts that were holding the rope up.

She was a fierce swordswoman like her mommy, you see.

Marion wanted to practice with the sword (and who didn't love a Nerf weapon?) but she was afraid it'd be unfair to challenge the little one.

Marion had yet to be able to reach the skill level of her mom or granddad Hood. But she wasn't gonna let that stop her from practicing with the bow and arrow.

*twang!* The arrow bounced off the target instead of sticking. She said a word in Irish that she'd learned from one of her Faery cousins. A word Aunt Teleri would have washed her mouth out for saying.

Gwynn was taking her turn at watching over the practice ring. She wasn't surprised that her girls were the first ones to make use of it.

It would be a good idea if anyone using this area didn't try make a real fight happen.

Kiddie Pool

Yes, there is a kiddie pool complete with sprinklers set up for the kids to run through and play with.

Shawna had decided that she was going to build a castle like she and her mommy sometimes explored.

Currently, she was creating a really deep dungeon for the castle.

Snacks

Healthy drinks like juice and water for the kids, tea and coffee for the adults.

There are veggies snacks as well as pastries and such from J GOB.

No, there are no brownies except for the ones in individual shrink-wrapped packaging. Savannah was taking no chances with the well-being of the kidlets

A little girl who was usually blonde (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/2445223.html?thread=157401255#t157401255) ran squealing to the musical instruments. She had all kinds of colorful streaks on her face and in her hair.

Savannah was sitting under a tree and watching the kids carefully. She figured that there were enough things to do for even kids who got bored easily. She was drinking from her glass of iced tea and every so often her eyes would narrow for a second. That didn't last long as whatever kid had earned that look would seem to realize something was up and change the behavior.
