Room 217, Friday Night Pre-Dance

So, having amnesia for a week had cut into Savannah's shopping plans and the dress that Papa Benicio's new assistant had sent Savannah for the dance to help her out was an unmitigated disaster. There was no way she could wear that dress to the dance -- especially with the overprotective instincts of certain people she knew. She wasn't even sure that she could be brave enough to wear something that short in public no matter what.

This led to a hysterical phone call to Paige (as she didn't want Benicio's new assistant to get into trouble) last night. After getting her calmed down, her guardian assured her that she would purchase something appropriate and beautiful for the Valentine Dance and ship it immediately.

The caveat being that she wanted to know the entire, truthful story as to why Savannah hadn't been able to go shopping herself. Promising that she would tell her everything the next time they saw each other, Savannah had left it that. This morning, true to her word, a new dress for the dance had been delivered to Savannah.

Now, as she stood in front of the mirror doing her hair and make up, Savannah decided that she really liked the dress. It wasn't something that she would have thought to buy for herself, but she really liked it.
