Suite 720 At The Arms, Saturday Afternoon

Savannah, well let's be honest, after seeing Kristof in the woods Thursday night, she had been hiding in her and Johnny's hotel ever since. She had thought that was a good plan seeing as how she and Kristof didn't originally part on very good terms.

The thing is that sometimes Savannah's good plans? They don't work out so well.

Because she received a call from Kristof this morning telling her that he wanted to see her and talk to this so-called fiance of hers.

Alone. He wanted only her and Johnny present and Sean and Eve were not invited for her to hide behind.

Savannah had cleaned and cleaned and cleaned -- growling at the hotel staff that tried to enter. (She'd apologize to Mary later.) Now, Savannah was nervously pacing up and down the main room of the suite while Johnny watched her.

"I'd rather not have anything in common with the man, sweetheart," he said, grinning slightly as he led her to the small, comfortable sofa.

Kristof could have a seat in one of the two chairs facing them if he desired.

"Uh-huh," came his reply to Kristof. They were really talking about beer, weren't they? If the conversation went along this way, hell, Johnny thought he had this evening made.

She laughed softly. "But you do, love. You're both as protective as hell when it comes to me." It was probably a good thing that what she was going to tell Kristof in a few minutes, Benicio didn't know.

She sat close to Johnny as they all took their seats. then looked at Kristof. "Papa Benicio is a very good grandfather for the most part," she murmured. She took a deep breath and met Kristof's eyes. "Before you start, there's something I need to say. I know it wasn't you." She took another breath. "I know now that it wasn't you that tried to kill Paige -- that Leah thought had killed Paige for you. It was..." The last name was murmured very, very quietly.

And that? Would be Kristof trying very, very, very hard not to explode. So his temper went the way it always did, quiet and cold and vicious.

"Johnny? If you ever get the chance to kill Hector? Please do."

He somehow had a feeling Johnny really wouldn't have a problem with that, not if it came in the name of protecting Savannah. Call it a hunch.

Johnny reached for Savannah's hand although kept his eyes on Kristof.

"I'm certain I won't hesitate." Because yes, it just might give him pleasure to finally get to kill someone whose harmed Savannah in some destructive fashion or another.

Savannah shook her head. "You can't," she whispered. "Hector is Benicio's older son. He hates Lucas and wanted to kill Paige to hurt Lucas. He had no idea that it was going to cause ... what happened at the house and ..." She swallowed, looking down. She looked at Johnny. "Hector Cortez is Lucas' brother and he doesn't know that his brother tried to kill Paige. She never wanted him to know. But it's Hector who made sure that every Cabal in the the world knew that I was the one who k-killed..." She took a breath, looking into his eyes because if she didn't, she'd start being hysterical. "He's the one who made sure that everyone knew I killed the Nast heir."

Still reining in his temper -- because while there were a good many people he wanted to unleash it on, his daughter and her fiance were not two of those people -- Kristof asked, "But how do you know it was Hector?"

He hated the look in Savannah's eyes, the look that said she was barely holding it together. He wanted to do something for her, cast a calming spell, but he didn't think that would go over well. So he settled for the only other thing he could think of. He gave her his full attention, wanting her to at least know that he was taking this seriously. That he was taking her seriously.
