Room 217, Saturday Night

After the disaster that was supposed to be dinner with Paige and Sue, Savannah had returned to the dorms as quickly as she could. Once she got into the room, she flopped down on her bed, burying her face in her pillow for a long moment.

She was angry and depressed and so many other emotions all at once right now.

It had bothered her that Paige was talking about taking her out of Fandom, but it was the way Sue was talking to Johnny that had finally made her run off at the mouth. She couldn't go off on Paige in public, so she had told Johnny's sister what she thought about her treatment of him.

Parents Weekend was turning out to be one problem after another. She wasn't a fan of it.

Eve wanted to see how Savannah was doing, so she swung by her room. She knocked before poking her head in. "Hey," she greeted softly. "What's wrong?" It was extraordinarily obvious that something was, and she knew part of it considering her conversation with Paige.

Savannah had tears in her eyes as she turned her head to look at Eve.

"She's talking about taking me out of here."

"Oh, hell no," Eve said vehemently. "We are not letting that happen."

And Eve being Eve, she already had a plan in mind.

Savannah looked at her. "What are we going to do?" Because she knew they would do something. "Don't get me wrong, I love Paige and I know she's worried about me, but I have you here and I'm safe here. I don't want to leave, mom."

"We'll go to Jaime," Eve said. "Fill her in. Get her to tell Paige that she has a message from me or whatever. We'll have her say that I'm pissed and ordering her to sign guardianship over to Sean."

Savannah sat up. "Do you think Jaime would do it? Would she help us?" She didn't want anything to hurt or upset Paige, but she also didn't want to leave her mom and her brother.

"If we actually filled her in on the truth about me -- that the Fates sent me here and all that -- then I think yeah, she would," Eve said. "Because honestly, the worst thing you can do to Jaime Vegas is lie to her."

"Yeah, lying to a Necromancer only causes very bad things to happen." Savannah moved closer and laid her head on Eve's shoulder. "I wish we could tell Paige you were here, but that would just freak her out so badly and make her determined to protect me even more."

Eve wrapped an arm around Savannah and hugged her. "I won't let her take you away from me, sweetie. I promise. And I won't let her separate you from Johnny."

Eve still didn't exactly like Johnny dating Savannah, but he was a decent enough guy. And he was growing on her, to be perfectly honest. But most importantly, he made Savannah happy and he took damn good care of her. Sounded like the perfect guy.

"She would never believe that you wanted her to give guardianship of me to a Nast, you know, Mom," she said, letting Eve comfort her. "She knows how most of them feel about me... and Benecio didn't tell her or Lucas that he told Sean where to find me."

"Well, we'll just have to make her believe it, then, won't we?"

If there was one thing you didn't do, it was take Eve's baby girl away from her.

Savannah nodded. "Somehow, we have to. I can't lose you again."

"You won't, sweetheart," Eve promised. "If we can't make this work, then wherever they take you, I'll follow."

She smiled mischeviously. "Bet I could get Johnny to go in on it with me."

Including Johnny in mischief? Yeah, he'd officially gotten the Eve Levine stamp of approval.

Savannah gave her a faint smile. "I know you would. You wouldn't let me be without you again."

She snickered. "I can really see Johnny definitely wanting to be involved in that with you."

"Though God knows the rumors that might crop up if he and I take off at the same time... hrm. This plan will clearly require some thought."

Savannah couldn't help it, she giggled.
