Secluded Part Of The Beach, Early Monday Morning

Savannah hadn't returned to the Lighthouse after it was deemed safe for all of the refugees to leave the safety of Special Collections. There was the whole thing where she wanted to give Sean and Annja some privacy for their reunion. She'd hated seeing her brother looking so haunted and numb after he lost his wife, and she had been powerless to help him. The least she could do is give them some privacy.

She could see people all around her running about and being happy that they were alive again or excited because they had found out that people they loved were coming back into existence.

It was just like she had told Isabel, the people on the island were always brought back because those were the rules. By her logic, anyway.

God, she was exhausted, mentally and physically.

She wandered down to the beach to climb up onto one of the rocks. She needed some time to get her emotions back under control before she could go anywhere. She wasn't going to ask Wyatt to orb her to New York, because if everything she loved was still gone, she didn't know how she was going to be able to deal with it. Besides, Isabel and Wyatt had loved ones that they needed to check on, as well.

When she heard her phone ringing in her bag, she was almost afraid to answer it.

"And we can't even blame this one on Fandom for once," K-Mart said after a moment. "Fandom was what fixed it."

"As soon as I get a plane out -- unless you're up to flying out and picking me up? I don't want to ask Wyatt because ... it's been hell on him and he and Isabel need some time together, too, since we lost Wyatt when he stayed to add power to the forcefield so more people could get to safety."

She was so not going to add over the phone that she probably would have gotten taken, too, if Wyatt hadn't orbed her off of the roof and into Special Collections.

Which reminded her, she needed to ask Wyatt if Chris was back. She assumed he was since Johnny was back.

She nodded. "I told Isabel that it was against the rules for people on the island to get taken and stay taken."

"You catch a plane out," Johnny decided after a moment. "I'll head home, get the place all cleaned up and ready for a nice romantic evening, how's that sound?"

He wanted to pick her up, but he also wanted to do something for her. There wasn't much he could do, but he could do this much.

"It is," K-Mart said with a nod. "It really is. Okay, so we went missing for a little bit, but we're back. Because Fandom's just awesome like that."

She nodded. "I'll call and book the flight as soon as I can then." She probably wouldn't trust Portalocity for a little while with what had happened leading up to Wyatt coming to get her and all of the problems they had had afterwards.

"Johnny, I love you. No matter how many fights we ever have, I will always love you."

"Only this time, Fandom saved worlds, too."

"And I will always -- always love you," Johnny said solemnly. "I don't ever want you to forget or doubt that. I know I've been busy lately and I haven't exactly paid you the attention you deserve."

"Yeah, it did." K-Mart went silent for a moment. "This means home is safe now, too. Back home, I mean. Funny how avoiding zombies and dealing with the Umbrella Corporation counts as safe."

Savannah winced. She hadn't been planning on telling Johnny that she had been feeling neglected.

"You're a super hero," she said softly. "Helping people is important to you."

"No matter what, it's your roots," Savannah said.

"But being with you is important to me, too," Johnny said. "I guess I'm just not always very good at balancing it. But I'm trying, sweetheart. You know I am."

"Exactly." K-Mart nodded. "I should... I should go home and check on everybody. Make sure everybody's there."

Because it wasn't exactly like she could make phone calls.

"And I'm proud of who you," she pointed out quietly. "I'm proud of you for being the hero you are ... but sometimes, sometimes I just don't think that there's a place in your life for me any longer. I know you're trying to balance things out, but I can't help how I feel."

And they both knew that in an alternate universe, her not saying that feeling had led to a break-up, a kidnapping, and him not knowing he had a daughter for eighteen years.

"Don't go alone," Savannah cautioned. Or, tried to caution. It sounded more like a plea.

"I won't," K-Mart said. "I'm... too scared to go alone, honestly. I just don't know who to ask to go with me."

Johnny was quiet for a moment. "There will always be a place for you in my life," he said softly. "I love you, Savannah. You're the one I want to marry, to spend the rest of my life with, to have a family with."

He didn't know what else to say, didn't know if there was anything else to say.

"That's what I want, too, Johnny. I want that more than anything. I just ... I just want to make sure that I'm not getting in your way."

And now she was starting to cry again because this wasn't how she thought this phone call was supposed to go.

"If I didn't need to get back to my New York to see if Johnny is ..." She swallowed. "...I'd go."

"Listen to me, babe," Johnny said gently. "You could never be in my way. And a little secret? You're always with me, even when I'm off saving some random planet. Because I carry you around in my heart. How could you possibly be in my way?"

"I appreciate the thought," K-Mart assured her. "But you get back to New York, check on Johnny. And when you find him, give him a big hug for me, would you?"

Savannah fought to get herself under control. She knew that a complete emotional breakdown was coming and she needed to stay strong just a little longer.

"And I love you," he said, his voice soft. "I love you and I always will, no matter what. You know that, right?"

That might've been a hint of vulnerability in his voice, not that he'd ever admit it.
