Wednesday Afternoon, Serenity Cove (After Cheerleading)

Savannah was in a cheerfully bouncy mood as she and Chris walked down to Serenity Cove. She and Chris were going to hang out and talk about their powers and the different way their magics worked.

She hadn't really shown anyone what she could do or talked much about it since she had been here at Fandom. True, she had tal;ked a little bit to Chris and Wyatt when she had first gotten here, but it really hadn't been much.

Plus, hanging out with Chris was nice, too.

"I was and I thought it would be nice to get to know you better." She smiled.

He smiled back. "Getting to know you better sounds good to me."

"And you not freaking out about me juggling fireballs is a plus, too,' she teased.

"Well, you didn't freak out about my orbing," Chris countered.

"That's because that was cool. Have you always known how to do that?"

"No, I'm still actually learning how to control it," he admitted. "My mom bound mine and Wyatt's powers when we were little, just before she died, so we only found out in the last year that we actually have them and we're still learning how to use them."

"I didn't think it was possible to bind a witch's powers like that. In fact, I bet where I come people wish it was something that they could do to me and others like me."

Chris frowned. "My mom did it to protect us. Why do you think people would want to do that to you?"

"To kill or cage us," she said nonchalantly, looking out at the water.

"Savannah, who would want to hurt you like that?" Chris asked, putting his hand on her shoulder.

"The Cabals are one of them. They hate witches and would very much like it if we were all dead -- or doing their grunt work. Sorcerors and witches do not get along."

It was pretty obvious that there was more that she wasn't saying.

"That... really sucks," Chris said, at a complete loss for words.

Savannah turned her head and gave him a faint smile.

"It sucks to be them any time they have tried to mess with me or my family. I'm a Levine. I don't put up with that."

"Well, Halliwells don't put up with people treating their friends that way either," Chris assured her.

Savannah smiled at him. "Want to know something that really drives the Cabal guys batshit insane?"

"What?" Chris asked, sliding his hand down her arm and taking her hand in his.

She squeezed his hand. "I'm half sorceror," she grinned. "My mom and my dad fell in love. He was one of the heirs to one of the largest Cabals. It drives the rest of them insane that I exist and that they can't control me."

"My parents weren't supposed to fall in love either," Chris said. "It used to be against the rules for white lighters to get involved with their charges. In fact, my grandma and her white lighter had an affair and she gave my aunt up for adoption because of it."

"Your aunt... Phoebe?"

"No, my aunt Paige," Chris said. "She doesn't go here, though apparently she used to. I haven't actually met her yet."

Savannah blinked and then she grinned. "Her name is Paige?"

"Yeah, why?" Chris gave her a confused look.

She giggled softly. "My guardian's name is Paige, too."

He smiled. "We certainly have a lot of weird things in common."

"Yeah... yeah we certainly do." She tilted her head. "That's not altogether a bad thing."

Of course, she was pretty sure the whole my cousin isn't really my cousin but my mom thing would not be something they shared.
